Urgent Appeal – Twin Preterm Babies in Critical NICU Care Need Your Support

We write to you with deep urgency and hope. Help to Cure Foundation is currently supporting the case of Mrs. Artika Thombre, who recently gave birth to preterm twins at just 34 weeks gestation. Both babies are in critical condition and require prolonged NICU care at Apex Hospitals, Mulund, Mumbai.
Baby Girl – Twin One
• Gestational Age: 34 weeks (Preterm)
• Birth Weight: 1.8 kg (Low Birth Weight)
• Diagnosis:
o Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS): Common in preterm infants due to immature lungs. Requires ventilator support and oxygen therapy.
o Neonatal Sepsis: A life-threatening infection requiring IV antibiotics and close monitoring.
o Hypoglycemia: Blood sugar instability due to prematurity and infection. Managed with IV glucose infusion and regular monitoring.
• Treatment Plan:
o NICU stay for 2 months
o Ventilator support, inotropic therapy to stabilize blood pressure
o IV antibiotics, glucose infusion, and nutritional support
• Estimated Cost: ₹6,50,000
Baby Boy – Twin Two
• Gestational Age: 34 weeks (Preterm)
• Birth Weight: 1.46 kg (Very Low Birth Weight)
• Diagnosis:
o Respiratory Distress Syndrome
o Neonatal Sepsis
o Hypoglycemia
• Treatment Plan:
o NICU stay for 2 months
o Ventilator and inotropic support
o IV antibiotics, glucose therapy, and nutritional management
• Estimated Cost: ₹6,50,000
Family Background
Mr. Sanket Shankar Thombre, the father, works as a daily wage labourer earning ₹10,000/month. His wife is a homemaker. The family has already exhausted all their savings and is now unable to afford the continued treatment.
