Help Save 1-Year-Old Baby Ashad in His Battle Against Hydrocephalus
An Urgent Plea from Help To Cure Foundation
Little Mohd. Ashad Salman Shaikh is just 1 year and 10 months old. At an age when a child should be taking first steps and filling a home with laughter, Baby Ashad is facing a serious medical emergency at Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children, Parel, Mumbai.
He has been diagnosed with Hydrocephalus, a neurological condition in which excess fluid accumulates in the brain, increasing pressure inside the skull. Without timely medical intervention, this condition can lead to serious and potentially permanent complications.
His estimated treatment cost is ₹1,30,000. Your support can help his family arrange the care he urgently needs.
The Medical Emergency
Baby Ashad was admitted to Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children on 28 October 2026, under the care of Dr. Sheena Ali.
His treatment requires:
- Urgent neurosurgical procedure to relieve the fluid buildup in his brain
- Prolonged hospitalization and continuous medical supervision
- Specialized diagnostic investigations
- Intravenous antibiotics and other necessary medical care
The estimated cost of his surgery and hospital treatment is ₹1,30,000 (Rupees One Lakh Thirty Thousand Only).
A Family in Helpless Distress
Ashad comes from an extremely financially disadvantaged family. His father works as a daily wage labourer, earning barely enough to meet the family's basic needs, while his mother is a homemaker.
Due to severe financial hardship and family circumstances, both parents are currently away in their village, trying to manage their family's sustenance and arrange the resources needed for their child. Meanwhile, Ashad is being cared for by his Mausi (maternal aunt), who stays beside his hospital bed and looks after him.
The family has exhausted its limited savings on preliminary medical visits, emergency travel and investigations. Raising ₹1,30,000 is beyond their means, and they have no other resources available to arrange the treatment.
