This is the heartbreaking reality facing Dharshana and Sandeep Chiplunkar. Their precious baby girl was born much too soon at just 28 weeks + 1 day, weighing only 1.020 kg at birth.
Now just 20 days old, she is fighting for survival in the NICU at Nimai’s Borneo Mother & Child Care Hospital, Thane, where she is receiving CPAP breathing support.
She is battling Severe Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) and Clinical Sepsis and requires continued intensive medical care.
The Medical Emergency
Doctors have advised that the baby requires another 30 to 35 days of intensive NICU care to stabilize her condition and give her the best possible chance of recovery.
The baby's father, Mr. Sandeep Chiplunkar, works at a private company and earns an annual income of only ₹98,000, approximately ₹8,100 per month.
Her mother, Mrs. Dharshana Chiplunkar, is a homemaker. The family lives in a small rented room in Santacruz West, and their limited income is already consumed by basic household expenses.
The family has exhausted their modest savings and is unable to arrange the estimated ₹4,50,000 required for the baby's continued treatment.
